Pregnancy is a time of many changes to a woman’s body, her emotions, physical and mental stamina.  You deserve and need time and support for yourself.

 

Bodywork is not only key to helping you feel better, it can be essential in helping you cope with some of those changes that will be taking place.  A soothing massage or cranialsacral session can relieve physical and emotional built-up tension, helping you to sleep better which is key to being healthy and refreshed.

Optimal Fetal Positioning and Birth Preparation

Massage and CranioSacral Therapy can be an integral part of preparing for labor.  As the space inside the uterus becomes constricted, most babies will find a good comfortable position. Usually they are positioned head down. This is termed OA or Occiput (back of head) Anterior. Some babies might present as OP (posterior) or OT (transverse) and not be able to find the best fit possibly due to the tightness of Mom’s tissues. Bodywork can release restrictions in the muscles, connective tissue and ligaments so your body can do what it needs to do to help baby get in the optimal position for a vaginal birth.

 

Ideally, regularly scheduled appointments throughout your pregnancy can keep tension minimal, help you become aware of how and why tension may increase and therefore, you learn how to release it quicker.  This can be a great benefit and boost of confidence for the delivery.

 


Postpartum Massage and CranioSacral Therapy

 



Congratulations, now you have your baby!  It is just as important and needed for you to care for yourself after you give birth.  Massage and CranioSacral Therapy at this stage can help you physically, emotionally and mentally recover from the demands of giving birth.  Bodywork can give you some time to nurture yourself, get some needed rejuvenation
and rest.
