Craniosacral therapy is a gentle low-impact, nurturing approach to working with the fascia-connective tissue, muscles and bones to release restriction and pain.

Ebb and Flow

The cranial-sacral system is mainly the flow of cerebral spinal fluid from the head to the sacrum or tailbone. This is sometimes called the cranial wave.

Connective Tissue

Our fascia is what holds us together and allows movement of muscles, organs and joints.  It can become stuck and cause restrictions such as these:

  • Inhibiting movement and decreases function
  • Nerve conduction can be impaired
  • Muscles shorten
  • Joint range of motion becomes limited and/or painful (frozen shoulder, bursitis, etc.)
  • Organ function may change
  • Digestion problems may occur
  • Mental clarity and cognitive ability decrease (ADD/ADHD, Sensory Process Disorder, forgetfulness, change in abilities of language/math etc.)
  • Moods can be effected
  • Anxiety may become worse
  • Depression may become worse

Release

We use the cranial wave to assess for these restrictions. With extremely light touch we can feel where things are stuck. By simply easing the constriction in the area things release and balance is restored. This allows for a healthy flow of nerve impulses, fluids, and energy between regions of the body.

Balance

As restrictions are released tissue will move to normal functioning. This will increases joint range of motion, reduces pain, improve digestion, strengthen your immune system and assists in emotional release.

This gives you a deep sense of relaxation and well-being.

CranioSacral Therapy is safe for adults, infants, toddlers and seniors.  It is effective in many situations:

  • Auto accidents
  • Immune disorders
  • Chronic illness or injury
  • Digestive concerns
  • Dizziness
  • Pediatric growth milestones    (see individual page)
  • Pregnancy and the post-partum period (see individual page)
  • Muscle strain/sprain
  • Sinus Infections, acute or chronic
  • Sports injures
  • Sleep concerns
  • Surgery recovery
  • Toddler injuries  (see individual page)
  • Vertigo

Come in and enjoy this wonderful form of bodywork for pain relief and relaxation.
